Your privacy Privacy Policy Quill & Ember · Effective September 26, 2026 About this policy This policy describes how the developer of Quill & Ember handles information when you use the app and its support website. Your writing stays on your device Stories, manuscripts, world notes, scene plans, plot threads, focus records and preferences are stored locally in the app. The native writing tools do not require an account. The app does not send manuscript text to its attribution or push-notification integrations, and does not provide automatic cloud synchronization. When you export Markdown or a JSON backup, you choose its destination through Files. That destination may be a storage provider you use. Exported copies remain under your control; deleting the app does not delete those separate copies. Device information and attribution We use Adjust to obtain device or app-instance identifiers, measure how users discover the app and analyze app usage. Relevant information can include attribution identifiers, app interactions, device and operating-system information, and network information such as an IP address. Access to the advertising identifier is subject to your iOS tracking permission. Denying that permission does not mean that all other network requests or device-related processing stop. Push notifications We use OneSignal and Apple's push-notification infrastructure to send notifications using your device's push identifier. This involves push tokens or subscription identifiers, notification permission status and technical device information needed to provide the service. You can allow or decline notifications and change your choice in iOS Settings. Native writing does not require notification permission. Online content and support The launch screen retrieves online resources and may display remote web content or open links. These requests disclose network information to the destination. An attribution identifier may accompany a request to associate the visit with app attribution. Information you submit on an external page is also subject to that page's privacy notice. Our product and support pages are hosted on Vercel. Requests to the website expose ordinary connection information to the hosting service. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. Please avoid sending private manuscript text unless it is necessary for your request. Service providers Information is processed by the services described above as necessary for attribution, notifications, hosting and support. We do not share the app data with additional services for unrelated purposes. See the Adjust privacy policy, OneSignal privacy policy and Vercel privacy policy for their practices. Retention Our retention period for collected device, attribution and usage data is 20 days. This period concerns data collected for these services, not your locally stored writing. Local writing remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app. Exported copies are retained wherever you save them. Service providers' independently controlled records are governed by their own privacy policies. Your choices and deletion requests You can request deletion of data associated with your use of the app by emailing trinhdinhdong7375@icloud.com with the subject “Quill & Ember Data Deletion.” Describe the request; we may ask for information needed to identify the relevant records. Do not send passwords. You can also contact this address with questions or requests concerning your information. Deleting the app removes its app-local writing data. Remove any exported backups separately from the locations where you saved them. Tracking and notification permissions can be changed in iOS Settings. Updates Changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
